Officers are appealing for the public’s help to find a woman who has gone missing from Poole.

Janet Pethen, 77, was last seen walking away from her flat on Parkstone Road at around 2.30pm today, Wednesday 30 May 2018. She is believed to have been in a distressed state.

She is described as five feet five inches tall, of very slim and with short grey hair. She was wearing a short blue quilted jacket, jeans, grey shoes and glasses.

Searches of the area have been underway, involving the assistance of the NPAS helicopter.

Chief Inspector Rob Chalkley, of Dorset Police, said: “Janet was believed to have been upset when she went missing and we are very concerned for her. She is described as very frail and looks frightened.

“I am issuing this appeal and photo in the hope that someone may have seen Janet or a woman matching the description given. Janet has aged since this photo was taken and now has grey hair rather than the dark hair seen in the image.

“Her bus pass is missing so it may be possible she is travelling on buses and could have travelled some distance.

“I would urge anyone who has seen Janet or knows where she may be to please call us immediately.

“Finally, if Janet sees this appeal I would ask her to please get in touch with us. We and your family are very worried about you.”

Anyone with information or knowledge as to Janet’s whereabouts is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting incident number 30:298.
