Officers investigating a reported public order incident in Blandford are appealing for witnesses to come forward – with one person arrested.

At approximately 3.45pm on Friday 10 March 2023, three teenage boys approached two teenage girls in Park Road Recreation Ground.

It is alleged that one of the boys made threats to the girls while in possession of a knife.

The boys left the scene and no one was injured during the incident.

Following enquiries, a 13-year-old local boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife blade in a public place, making threats to kill and using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence. He has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

The arrested boy and the girls are known to each other.

Police Constable Jake Evans, of Dorset Police, said: “I understand there may have been several people in the location at the time who may have witnessed what happened.

“I would ask these people to please come forward as you may have vital information to assist my enquiries.”
