Man arrested following 14 year old beaten with baseball bat in Poole

Officers investigating an altercation in Poole during which a teenage boy was reportedly assaulted with a baseball bat are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report of an altercation that occurred at around 7.35pm on Saturday 11 September 2021 at the junction of Dewlish Close and Sherborn Crescent.

It was reported that during the altercation a 14-year-old boy was struck with a baseball bat and sustained a head injury. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

Following enquiries, a 27-year-old Poole man was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm. He was subsequently released without charge.

Investigations Officer Stevie Tiernan, of Dorset Police, said: “Our investigation into this incident is ongoing and I am appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to please come forward.

“I would also urge any motorists who were driving in the area and have dashcam fitted to please check their footage for anything relevant.”
