14 Year Old in Serious Condition Following Assault by Group in Poole

Police Appeal for Witnesses After Teenager Seriously Assaulted in Poole Town Centre

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a serious assault on a teenage boy in the centre of Poole.

The incident took place during the afternoon of Sunday, 1 March 2026, in the High Street area of the town centre. The 14-year-old victim was standing outside the offices of Rubicon Recruitment with two other teenagers when they were approached by a larger group.

According to police, the incident occurred sometime between 4.15pm and 4.40pm. The three teenagers were confronted by a group of six male youths. What followed was a violent assault in which the victim was knocked to the ground and repeatedly punched and kicked.

Members of the public were present in the busy shopping area at the time, as the attack happened in broad daylight in one of the town’s most frequented streets.

Emergency services were called and the injured boy was taken to hospital, where he received treatment for injuries that officers believe to be serious. Details about the extent of the injuries have not been publicly released, but the incident is being treated as a significant assault.

Officers from Dorset Police have now launched a full investigation and are actively working to identify those responsible for the attack.

Police Constable Kenny Follina, of Poole Police, said officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who might have information that could help their enquiries.

“We are carrying out a full investigation into this assault as we look to identify those involved,” he said.

“This incident occurred in broad daylight with a number of members of the public present and I am keen to hear from witnesses or anyone with information that might assist our investigation.”

Investigators are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have been in the High Street area at the time and who may have seen the group of teenagers before, during or after the attack. Officers are also urging anyone who may have captured footage on mobile phones, dashcams or nearby CCTV systems to come forward.

Police say even small pieces of information could prove crucial in helping them identify the suspects and establish exactly what happened during the assault.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55260029644.

Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers through its website or by calling 0800 555 111.
