Officers investigating an attempted robbery and assault on a teenage boy in Poole are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Between 8.50pm and 8.55pm on Thursday 23 September 2021 the victim – a 16-year-old local boy – was walking near to the footbridge behind Stone Close in the direction of Hamworthy Park when two people approached and asked him for his belongings.

When the victim did not hand over his rucksack, one of the men punched him in the face. He sustained a chipped tooth and bruising to his eye.

The two male suspects subsequently ran away from the scene.

The first offender is described as white, approximately six feet three inches tall and had blue eyes. He was wearing a red tracksuit, a dark-coloured scarf over his face, a camouflage-coloured beanie hat and white trainers. The second offender was described as wearing a balaclava, a peaked cap, blue tracksuit and black trainers.

Police Constable Cara Bradley, of Poole police, said: “Following initial enquiries, we have now taken a full account from the victim and are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed what happened to please come forward.

“I would urge anyone who recognises the two male suspects from the description given to please get in touch.

“If you have any information about who was responsible, please contact Dorset Police.”
