18 year old from Poole arrested following serious road traffic collision

Officers investigating a road traffic collision in East Dorset are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at 2.56pm on Wednesday 3 May 2023 of a single vehicle collision on the B3078 Cranborne Road near the Horton Inn at Horton. The vehicle involved was a red Ford Fiesta.

Officers attended, along with the fire and ambulance services. A woman aged in her 40s was reported to be trapped in the vehicle. The fire service assisted with removing her from the vehicle and she was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

Following enquiries at the scene, an 18-year-old man from Poole was arrested on suspicion of a road traffic offence.

Police Constable Tom Pocock, of Dorset Police, said: “We are conducting enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision and I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident to please come forward.

“I am particularly keen to speak to a man in a black T-shirt who assisted the injured woman at the scene as he may have information to assist our investigation.

“Finally, I would also urge anyone who was driving in the area with dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please check their footage for anything of relevance.”
