26 Year Old Ferndown Man Arrested Following Attack With An Air Rifle on A Jewish Boy In Bournemouth

have made an arrest following a reported hate crime incident in Bournemouth and we are continuing to appeal for witnesses and information.

It was reported that at around 2.50pm on Saturday 23 August 2025, two people were walking in Manor Road when the driver of a car stopped and made offensive comments toward them.

It is reported that one of the people – a teenage boy – was subsequently shot at with an air weapon. He sustained a minor head injury.

Following enquiries into the incident, led by detectives from BCP CID, a 26-year-old man from Ferndown has been arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of an imitation firearm in a public place. He has been released on police bail as an investigation continues.

Detective Chief Inspector Nicola Jenkins, of Dorset Police, said: “We have been carrying out extensive enquiries as part of our investigation and have now made an arrest in connection with the incident.

“Enquiries are ongoing, and I would ask anyone who has not already spoken to police and has information that may assist our investigation to please come forward.

“We understand the concern that this incident has caused to members of the community and we are continuing to liaise with them to provide updates and reassurance.

“We are also continuing to support and update the victims with the progress of the investigation.”
