Time to dig out the deely boppers, dust off the shoulder pads and get ready to party like it’s 1983 as the 80s Invasion Tour parks its big-haired time machine at Lighthouse, Poole’s centre for the arts on 10 March.

Bringing four of the decade’s most memorable artists to tour together for the first time, the show stars legendary 80s hitmakers Big Country, Midge Ure, Nick Heyward and Curiosity Killed the Cat, all of them performing their greatest hits.

And with record sales in excess of 20 million, some 200 gold, platinum and silver discs and numerous awards between them this is the show no self-respecting 80s fan will dare to miss.

Big Country: Formed by ex-Skids guitarist Stuart Adamson in 1981 Big Country racked up a string of hits including Fields of Fire [400 Miles, In a Big Country, Chance, Wonderland and Look Away. The band played a farewell tour that ended in 2000, 18 months before Adamson’s death. After reforming in 2007 to mark their 25th anniversary original members Bruce Watson and Mark Brzezicki have kept Big Country on the road ever since.

Midge Ure: Having paid his dues with 70s bands Slik and The Rich Kids, Midge struck pay dirt when he took over as singer with Ultravox in 1979. Over the next few years they hit big with Vienna, All Stood Still, Dancing with Tears in My Eyes and Love’s Great Adventure, before Midge went solo, co-wrote Do They Know It’s Christmas? with Bob Geldof and had his own chart topper with If I Was.

Nick Heyward: As singer with Haircut 100 Nick notched up four top ten 45s in 1981/82 – Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl), Love Plus One, Fantastic Day and Nobody’s Fool before going solo and hitting the charts again with Whistle Down the Wind, Take That Situation and Blue Hat for a Blue Day.

Curiosity Killed the Cat: Formed in 1984 by singer Ben Volpeliere-Pierrot, the band worked with Andy Warhol on the video for their debut single Misfit, before the follow up Down To Earth was a huge hit in 1986. Further hits followed with Name and Number and a cover of Hang on in There Baby.
