Anyone thinking of voting Labour please do not. They are the Tories in a different suit.
The latest MP to be deselected for not being a Tory is Mick Whitley.
This is Mick:
Mick Whitley, elected as a Member of Parliament for Birkenhead in 2019 with a significant majority of 17,705, represents the Labour Party in this Merseyside constituency. Birkenhead, a former shipbuilding area, has been a stronghold for Labour since 1945. Situated to the east of the Wirral peninsula, the constituency encompasses the town of Birkenhead as well as the surrounding areas of Tranmere, Prenton, Rock Ferry, and Oxton. Despite political shifts in other parts of the Wirral, this region has remained steadfastly loyal to the Labour Party. For four decades prior to Whitley, the seat was held by Frank Field, who later became an Independent candidate in 2019 and secured 7,285 votes after parting ways with the Labour Party due to disagreements with Jeremy Corbyn, and his support for Brexit.
Mick Whitley, born in 1951, has a background in the merchant navy and previously worked at a Vauxhall car plant before becoming a trade union official. He dedicated nearly thirty years to serving as a TGWU shop steward at Merseyside’s Vauxhall plant and later assumed the role of Regional Secretary for the Unite Union.
Within the Labour Party, Whitley serves as the Parliamentary Private Secretary to Ed Miliband. In December 2021, he briefly resigned from the Labour front bench in opposition to a proposal to mandate vaccinations for NHS staff.
During the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Whitley was among 11 Labour MPs who endorsed a statement by the Stop the War coalition. This statement appeared to challenge the notion that NATO was solely a defensive alliance and criticized its eastward expansion. However, Whitley and the other MPs later withdrew their support from the statement.
Known for his left-leaning views within the Labour Party, Whitley backed Rebecca Long Bailey in the 2020 Labour leadership election. He actively participates in various All-Party Parliamentary Groups, including those focused on Council Housing, Free Ports, and State Pension Inequality for Women.
It's an honour to serve as Birkenhead's voice in Westminster.

I was born and raised in Birkenhead. I know the challenges facing our town and I know the difference that Labour can make to the lives of local people.

Mick’s letter to his constituents.
If anyone believes that Starmer and his crony Labour party have it in mind to make the country better for us they need a straight jacket.
