Officers investigating a serious road traffic collision in Poole are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward – with one man being arrested.

The collision on Leicester Road was reported to police at 8.19pm on Friday 28 July 2023. It involved a blue Ford Fiesta and two pedestrians.

One of the pedestrians, a woman in her 20s from Cardiff, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A 20-year-old man from Poole was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and remains in custody.

A road closure was put in place to enable emergency services to deal with the incident safely.

Police Sergeant Michael Burt, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police to please come forward.

“In addition, I would like to hear from any motorists with a dashcam fitted who may have relevant footage to assist my enquiries.

“Also, I would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while the road closure was in place, which was necessary to enable us to conduct a thorough investigation.”
