Detectives are issuing CCTV images of a man they would like to identify as they investigate a report of a racially aggravated assault in Bournemouth.

At around 5.30am on Sunday 1 September 2024 a man aged in his 40s was riding a Beryl scooter in Beale Place when he came across a group of three men.

One of the men punched the victim to the face and he was also racially abused by the group.

He was able to run away from the group and subsequently attended hospital for treatment to facial injuries.

Detective Inspector Darren Moores, of BCP CID, said: “We take all reports of hate crime and public place violence very seriously and we have been carrying out a number of enquiries into this incident.

“As a result of these enquiries, we have obtained CCTV images of a man we would like to speak to as part of our investigation.

“I would urge anyone with information regarding this man’s identity to please contact us.”
