The graph (inset) shows the accumulated amount of donations to the Tory Party since 2001 from forty one individuals or companies linked to the private health care industry. The accumulated figure for that period is more than £8.3million. I was able to gain this information from a list of declared donations on the Electoral Commission’s site (here) Below I give a breakdown of the companies & individuals includes.

Since 2001, the Tory Party have received at least 333 separate donations from companies or individuals with links to the private health care industry. This includes companies who offer consultancy, or lobby on behalf of medical companies. It also includes companies that sell products (hardware or medicines) to the NHS. In addition, personalities that have directorships or stake in or with health care companies have been included. Companies that profit from social care, or running private clinics have also been included. It is a fair statement that if Hunt & Cameron go ahead with their dismantling of the NHS, that the economic future for the companies and individuals involved in this sector is enhanced.
Does private healthcare money matter more to the Tories than the majority of UK Voters who want the NHS reforms scrapped?
