Furniture buyers can help Dorset’s woodlands this month thanks to a new initiative in Dorchester. Woods Furniture is donating £10 to Dorset Wildlife Trust for every purchase worth over £250 throughout April. Visitors to the showroom will also receive a cherry tree to plant at home, both adorning their garden and benefiting wildlife.

Abigail Gibbs Conservation Officer (Trees and Woodlands) at Dorset Wildlife Trust, said: “We are very grateful to Woods Furniture for this generous offer, giving people the opportunity to help Dorset’s woodlands. The support of local people is vital to the future of Dorset’s wildlife and we welcome this link with local business and local shoppers.”

Hamish McGhee, Managing Director of Woods Furniture, said: “Woods Furniture are delighted to be supporting DWT in raising money towards woodland projects. As a big thank you to all new and existing customers we are giving away a FREE Cherry Tree to everyone who visits our showroom on High East Street, Dorchester throughout the whole month of April *No purchase necessary.”

Dorset Wildlife Trust works to protect and restore woodland habitats across the county. Current projects include planting trees in the Lorton Valley, promoting Purbeck Small Woods, advising woodland owners and protecting important woods both on reserves and in the wider countryside.

The Woods Furniture offer is open for the month of April, with a £10 donation to Dorset Wildlife Trust for all orders over £250 and a free cherry tree for all visitors while stocks last.  Woods Furniture is at 34-35 High East Street, Dorchester, DT1 1HN.  For more details, ring 01305 262666 or visit www.woods-furniture.co.uk.
