“Don’t dream, Girl! Get a job in a call centre” Samantha Stevens remembers being told at school.

But that’s not what Samantha wanted to do … she wanted to perform. And now her dream has come true with her own theatre production: Samantha Sings The Shows in which she performs classic tunes from stage and film musicals such as My fair Lady, Chicago, Phantom, etc.

Samantha has always sung. At school she took part in every musical production and was a member of the choir (of course!). It gave her a good grounding in singing and especially in stage technique … but she wanted to do even more.

A couple of years ago Samantha joined the Poulner Players and had a great time getting involved in their Christmas panto. The Southern Evening Echo described her performance as “effervescent”.

The next step was professional vocal coaching … then evening sessions at Open Mic pub nights … then a guest spot with a Frank Sinatra tribute show and now, after a lot of planning and rehearsal, her own full-on show.

Samantha Sings The Shows is at The Barrington Theatre, Ferndown.
