Vita Nova the Boscombe based arts organisation working with people in recovery from addiction will be presenting a ‘Fringe Festival’ of performances and events on 13th & 14th September, at 11 Roumelia Lane.
It will be a showcase of work from Vita Nova artists as well as offering a platform to work from local artists.

Having recently moved to their new premises at Roumelia Lane Vita Nova are keen to play a part in the exciting arts scene in Boscombe, and they hope that this Fringe Festival will become a regular feature for the Boscombe area, expanding the work of Arts Bournemouth and offering space to emerging and upcoming artists to develop and share their work.

There will be a wide variety of work in the festival: Spoken Word, Theatre, Live Art, Photography and Film, as well as workshops and an opportunity to come and have a tour of the building on Friday afternoon.

To encourage attendance by people who don’t normally engage in the arts Vita Nova are keeping all events free of charge and will be asking people to only pay what they think the show was worth on their way out.

Quotes

“Vita Nova’s artists have some incredible stories to tell, that we’ve supported them to develop these into great performances offers a really authentic and unique opportunity for people to engage together and find out more about each other, which for me personally is what the arts is all about”

“This festival is great opportunity to see a great variety of locally produced work in a welcoming setting and we’re looking forward to opening our doors to the local community”

About Vita Nova

Vita Nova is an arts organisation based in Boscombe. Our radical model works with people in recovery from addiction, equipping them with skills in the arts which can then be shared in ways which give back to the community and promote progression to education and employment.

We provide workshops in music, writing, spoken word and performance skills to both the recovery community and the general public.

We work extensively with young people to educate them to make informed and empowered choices, which is demonstrated through our longstanding commitment to work in schools and youth centres, providing workshops and talks.
