Two open meetings for Weymouth Levy Payers were held on 16th January in the Pavilion Ocean Room, Weymouth, and despite the appalling weather, over 40 Levy Payers attended.

This was the first public meeting since the BID became operational in September and gave Levy Payers the opportunity to hear about the BID’s progress to date, future plans and gave an opportunity for levy payers to talk with members of the Weymouth BID Board.

Joint Weymouth BID Chair, Alistair Clarke, and BID Manager, Nigel Reed, gave a 20 minute presentation that covered information about the BID’s formation, its objectives and first one hundred days, as well details of forthcoming events and other projects to be undertaken in 2014.

A questions and answers session followed, which covered topics ranging from Town Signage, Levy Payments to Parking and New Events.

Alistair Clarke, Joint Chair of Weymouth BID said “I am really pleased with how today has gone, everyone who came appeared to go away with a much better understanding of how a BID functions and how we intend to support businesses over the coming year. The opportunity for Levy Payers to engage with the BID’s board members was extremely productive and we have a number of enquiries to follow up.”

on from the discussion.”

BID Board Members in attendance were: Joint Chair, Alistair Clarke, Brian Cooper, Steve Newstead, Anna-Maria Geare, Francis Drake, Dennis Spurr and Rob Cole.

Supported by Bid Manager, Nigel Reed and W&PBC BID Liaison Officer, Trevor Hedger.
