East Dorset District Council is currently encouraging grant applications from charities and other ‘not for profit’ groups that are either based in the district or who offer services to East Dorset residents.

Funding is available under the Community Grants programme. Applications which closely address the five key priorities are especially welcome and will receive preferential consideration:

  • Provide communities with opportunities to take greater involvement in running public services
  • Improve opportunities for young people to live healthy and successful lives
  • Work with partners to ensure crime levels in 2016 do not exceed 2011 levels
  • Improve life chances for vulnerable people
  • Deliver improvements for health and wellbeing.

Grants are available for both revenue and capital projects. Maximum grants are in the region of £3,000.

Completed application forms must be received by 9am on Monday 21 July 2014.

Application forms are currently available online at www.dorsetforyou.com/387693 or
