By any measure, ‘Dennis Hill: a retrospective’ has been a resounding success, and we are thrilled to say that Dennis’ wonderful exhibition, organised by PEDAS (Poole & East Dorset Art Society), has raised £3,820 for Julia’s House.
£2,600 came from exhibition sales and £1,220 from the auction that was held yesterday at The Gallery Upstairs.
PEDAS has been celebrating the 90th birthday and long painting career its most accomplished artist. Most of the work on show was kindly loaned by their proud owners, but there was also new work for sale, which swiftly sold, with all the proceeds going to Julia’s House. This was an exhibition above and beyond the ordinary. As well as being Dennis’ 90th, this was a celebration of the Society’ own beginnings 90 years ago, with paintings borrowed from the museum and the college.
