Dorset Wildlife Trust (DWT) has just released its first winter catalogue, with a fantastic selection of gift ideas for Christmas, including cards, books, felting kits, candle sets and wildlife care products.  100% of the profits go straight back into vital wildlife conservation work in Dorset.

New products for this season include a selection of gifts such as hand and foot balm and candles, inspired by the plight of the honeybee by ‘Beefayre Gifts’, which are sourced ethically, using natural ingredients.  Prices start from £6.50.  For kids’ education gift ideas, the popular ‘The Gruffalo Nature Trail’ book (£4.99) is a fact-filled spotters’ guide, with stickers, outdoor games and creative activities to help children learn about the wild world around them.

DWT has also teamed up with local business, Hawthorne Handmade, to sell wildlife-themed needle felting kits.  Stephanie Hawthorne said, “At Hawthorn Handmade we’ve always been passionate about our local Dorset countryside, and our needle felting kits are strongly inspired by the fauna we see on country walks, with foxes being my particular favourite! As a member, it has been a real delight to have the kits in the new DWT catalogue and online, and it’s a wonderful opportunity to work with a charity that is dedicated to protecting wildlife.”

The popular DWT wildlife and landscape Christmas card collection is also in the online store and catalogue, with some stunning scenes from Abbotsbury in Dorset, and iconic wildlife images of red kite’s and red squirrels in the snow.  These photos are taken by professional photographers, who haven’t charged for their images so DWT can put all the profits back into looking after wildlife in Dorset.

DWT gift membership for wildlife lovers is also just a click away in our online shop.  This winter, we have launched our campaign to get more people outside in their gardens and ‘Make Wildlife Welcome’. Our starter pack, which includes a free book The Wildlife Gardener by Kate Bradbury (RRP £14.99) and a tin of Project Maya Seedball wildflower seeds (RRP £4.99) is the perfect place to start learning how to help threatened garden wildlife.  The recipient of your gift will also receive Dorset Wildlife Trust membership for a year.  Prices start from £36 for a year subscription.

The winter catalogue has been sent out to 25,500 DWT members, and is available in all our Centres*.  To browse the online shop, visit www.dorsetwildlifetrust.org.uk/shop
