The Best of Dorset Show is a free event for the public, open 11am to 4pm on Sunday 22 March, at the Weymouth Pavilion and forecourt.
Now in its fifteenth year, the show promises to be another high energy occasion. Organisers are expecting over 1,500 visitors to enjoy a great mix of live entertainment, children’s fun, information and displays representing top quality attractions and services available throughout Dorset.
Popular features of this year’s show will include the Tall Ship Pelican (open for visitors throughout the show), Nothe Fort Re-enactment Group with live hourly canon firing and a chance to view the proposals for the Weymouth Town Centre Masterplan.
There will be a programme of live entertainment on the pavilion stage. This year we welcome the highly talented Ed Hintz, Let’s Dance, WOW Youth Theatre, Wey Valley School Choir, the Rock Choir and the very popular forces singing group The Decadettes. There will also be lots of balloon animal fun for children with the show clown Captain Stupid.
Weymouth & Portland Borough Council Tourism and Culture Briefholder, Cllr Rachel Rogers said: “The Best of Dorset Show is a special event designed to promote and showcase all that is great about Dorset.
“The show offers local people the opportunity to visit the pavilion, be entertained and pick up lots of information and ideas on the many great attractions, events and entertainment taking place throughout the area in 2015.
