Link Park adjacent to the Granby Industrial Estate Weymouth continues to grow as planning for phase three is submitted.  Developers DJ Property will soon be investing a further £3.5 million into Link Park, based on strong lettings over the last year.  The new planning application will be for an additional 11 units at Link Park, Weymouth with construction due to start as soon as possible creating 60 new jobs.

Units in phase one and two of the development were occupied very quickly by national and local brands, the last remaining businesses will occupy units by early summer.DJ Property is on track to complete over 50,000 sq ft of new employment buildings at Link Park by the end of 2015.

One of the businesses who moved into a unit in phase two at Link Park were Hermes, a courier service and parcel delivery company who process over 200 million parcels each year. The company operates a network of nearly 9,500 independent couriers that provide doorstep delivery. Through this network, Hermes provides delivery services to many online retailers in the UK, including Next Directory, ASOS, Tesco, John Lewis, Debenhams, Arcadia Group and ASDA.  Westward Tool Base and HSS Hire have also taken units in phase two in recent months.

Screwfix was the first business to occupy one of the units at Link Park. Screwfix Weymouth store manager, Ian Caruana, said “At Screwfix we pride ourselves on the speed, reliability and convenience of our service and Link Park offers the ideal location to enable us to offer that service to the area’s tradesmen and DIY enthusiasts. We have enjoyed a successful first year at Link Park and look forward to continuing to provide the region’s tradesmen with easy access to all the essentials they need, so they are fully prepared for any job.”

Mickey Jones, Chief Executive of DJ Property, the company developing Weymouth’s newest business park said “Phase one at Link Park let very quickly to national brands such as Euro Car Parts, Halfords Autocentre, Topps Tiles, Toolstation and Screwfix and they have all enjoyed a very busy first year. Phase two has predominantly let to local and regional companies who have expanded their businesses with larger, better quality space.   Mud Sweat & Gears and JR Autotechnics have now been trading well at Link Park in recent months.   DJ Property as a trusted, professional developer of commercial property continues to build long-term relationships with many local, national and international businesses.  Phase 2 of the development at Link Park was completed in late 2014. The third phase will consist of business units measuring between 1,650 sq ft and 2,500 sq ft and will be particularly attractive to local businesses that are looking to expand their business into higher quality new commercial space. I have already had expressions of interest from a number of national companies and large local businesses, Link Park is becoming the “Go to” destination in Weymouth & Portland for tradesmen and the general public.   The units will again be of market leading quality and are very visible from the busy Chickerell Link Road, just what occupiers are demanding in today’s market.”  Mr Jones went on to say “Phase four of the development at Link Park is expected to follow in 2016.”

Almost 100% of DJ Property’s units on the Granby Industrial Estate, Lynch Lane Industrial Estate and Link Park are currently occupied.  The new units in phase three of Link Park should be ready for occupation by late 2015.  Link Park’s direct frontage onto the Chickerell Link Road and proximity to Weymouth’s major roads makes it the ideal location for many businesses.  Buildings at Link Park are amongst the highest quality available in South Dorset and all units benefit from reduced cost solar PV generated electricity.
