Weymouth & Portland Chamber of Commerce will be hosting an Election Question Time  on 21st April 2015 at Weymouth College.  This event will give chamber members and guests an opportunity to meet and ask questions of the local candidates standing in General Election in May 2015.

The following candidates will be attending the event which is being organised in conjunction with Wessex FM.

  • Howard Legg            (Liberal Democrats)
  • Jane Burnet              (Green Party)
  • Richard Drax            (Conservative)
  • Simon Bowkett         (Labour)
  • Mervyn Stewkesbury (Independent)

Doors will open at 6.15pm for registration with the main presentations and Q&A from 6.45pm. The event will close at 7.45pm.

Members of the Chamber of Commerce have been invited to put questions to the candidates. The questions must be submitted in advance, either at registration of the event or by email to [email protected]. If you are selected to ask your question, you will be advised shortly before the event.     Michelle Hind, President of WPCC said   “Now is the time to invest in Weymouth & Portland –   if you have something to ask then now is the time to do so,  do not wait until after the election and wish that you had.   Candidates are putting themselves on the line and so they should if they want the public to vote for them.  Candidates should expect to provide answers so that we are fully informed before voting – fully informed is to be fully armed”.

Non-members of the Chamber are welcome to attend but will not be permitted to put questions to the candidates.

Press are invited to attend a photo call at 6.30pm at Weymouth College and would ask that you register your attendance, or if you think you should be invited as a guest, with our administrator at [email protected]
