The Justice Café will be welcoming South West MEP, Clare Moody to Dorchester’s Shire Hall this Friday 26 June.

With the EU in headlines on an almost daily basis this month’s timely talk will focus on Europe. Clare will be discussing how being a core part of Europe has benefited Britain and why the EU has been a force for good.

Workers rights, Health and Safety law as well as increased trade and jobs are all positive sides of being part of Europe, but there can also be challenges.

Clare was elected in 2014 as an MEP to the European Parliament, having previously represented workers across the South West region for many years in her role as a trade union officer for the UNITE union and an advisor in the Downing Street political unit under the Brown Government.

Shire Hall event organiser, Keith Hatch said; “We organised this talk months ago, but it seems to be perfectly timed – and will offer a really interesting perspective on the EU, and the benefits of membership that are sometimes forgotten, from someone who has been elected to represent the South West in Europe.”

The Justice Cafe is at Dorset Shire Hall on Friday 26 June at 7.30pm. Doors open at 7pm and refreshments are available for a small donation.

Tickets cost £5 and can be bought in advance from Dorchester Arts (01305) 266926 or on the door.
