Communities will be coming together from 16 May for Dementia Awareness Week.
One in six people aged 80 and above have dementia. Younger people are also being diagnosed, with over 40,000 now living with the disease in the UK.
Weymouth and Portland Dementia Action Alliance are raising awareness by organising a two-mile local walk, taking place on Wednesday 18 May at 10.30am.
The walk will begin at Radipole Lake’s Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) Centre in Weymouth and will make its way along the Esplanade and through the town centre.
The walk is open to all ages and abilities. Free refreshments will be provided at the end of the walk.
