Everything is set for hundreds of witches, ghosts, cats and vampires to descend on Lyme Regis Seafront in the Lyme Slime 2K Fun Run this Saturday 29th October, at 11am.

The ‘Lyme Slime Halloween Festival’, is a new extraordinary Halloween event for all the family, which will give participants the opportunity to dress up in their scariest costumes and join in the fun. The main attraction, the Lyme Slime 2K is definitely no ordinary fun run, along the route will be the Lyme Slime witch who will try to entice participants to taste her witches brew and the ‘trick or treat’ station offering lots of mysterious and gross things for children to touch in the witches cauldrons – should they dare, plus a mass participation spook-tacular warm up for everyone to join in before the start.

Hubs Toddlers and Lyme Regis Christmas Lights will both be fundraising in the Jubilee Pavilion Entertainment Zone between 11am and 2pm. Hubs Toddlers will be providing lots of Halloween children’s games and competitions such as apple bobbing, pumpkin bowling, spooky golf andthe ghost lolly game, whilstLyme Regis Christmas Lights will be selling some deliciously fang-tastic cakes and offering the opportunity to guess the number of spooky sweets in the jar.

The event aims to create a giant wall full of paper craft bats at the back of the Jubilee Pavilions and another full of ‘Day of the Dead’ masks made by participants on the day, which will go alongside the fear-inspiring bunting made by year nine pupils at The Woodroffe School.  There is also a ‘Scary Halloween Selfie Photo Booth’ available to enable participants to showcase their creepy costumes and frightening faces to friends on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

At 12.30pm prizes will be given out for the best Halloween costumes, so participants are requested to dig out a creepy outfit and come dressed as a ghost, cat, witch, werewolf, skeleton, pumpkin or anything with a Halloween theme. Hubs Toddlers will also be available for a small fee to face paint a pumpkin, bat or spider face.

Event Director, Sally Raynes from Wacky Nation says; “There is a great buzz around this fun and entertaining event and we have already had lots of families sign up to take part.  There are still some spaces left, but entrantsshould sign up now as places are going quickly.”

Participants need to register in advance at www.wackynation.com/lymeslimefor a place in the 2K Lyme Slime Fun Run.  The cost to register is £5 for children and £5 for adults, plus for a limited time adults go free when entering two or more children. There may be spaces available on the day if the limit of two hundred and fifty entrants is not reached in advance.

There is also the opportunity to come along to the Jubilee Pavilions on Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th to try out some of the spooky games in advance between 11am and 3pm.  Anyone wishing to avoid the booking fee can bring their entry form, (which can be found on-line) and entry fee to these sessions.
