Get ready to wish upon a star and see your favourite storybook princesses perform some of the most popular movie musical songs and chart topping hits when Once Upon A Princess returns to the Regent Centre in Christchurch from 14-15 August.  The show features movie musical classics from some of Broadway and West End’s biggest shows including Annie, Matilda, Hairspray, Shrek and We Will Rock You alongside a list of pure pop party hits from Michael Buble, Olly Murs, Little Mix, Jess Glynne and Dolly Parton.

The show’s producer, Andy Brennan says: “We are hugely excited to be returning to the Regent Centre with Once Upon A Princess. Last year’s premiere was a huge success and we’ve had so many requests to bring it back – so here it is! This year is even more exciting as we have a brand new tale to tell.”

Once Upon a Princess stars Carl Tracey from Nickelodeon’s Nick Jr – one fifth of the children’s TV musical group Go!GoGo! who perform regularly on the channel and have completed a number of hugely successful West End runs and UK national tours.
“I can’t wait to be a part of this very pink production!” reveals Carl, who performed in Cinderella alongside Andy at the Rotherham Civic Theatre (with Andy as an Ugly Sister and Carl as Prince Charming). The pair have remained great friends ever since. “I watched and loved last year’s show, so when Andy rang and offered me a part in the production this year, it was an instant ‘yes!’ “

Christchurch’s very own Ally Cox returns as the magic maker Fairy Muddled, to sprinkle some musical magic over the princesses. “I’ve dusted off my wand and I’m ready for action!” says Ally.“This show is all about magic and seeing the children’s faces in the audience utterly amazed when they see the princesses on stage – it’s the magic of live theatre!”

Jam-packed with feelgood, singalong songs, Once Upon A Princess is designed to be just as entertaining for adults as it is for little ones.

The magic doesn’t stop when the curtain falls as the cast will be out in the foyer after the show to meet and greet the audience.

So don’t be late for the ball – make sure you book your golden ticket now!
