The Bournemouth Town Centre Business Improvement District (BID) has funded a new smart phone app aimed at visitors and the thousands of conference delegates visiting the town every year
A new smart phone app is highlighting Bournemouth as an excellent destination for major conferences and events. With 118,000 event delegates visiting Bournemouth in the last year, the new iBournemouth App has been developed by Business Events Bournemouth to improve their experience and encourage delegates to spend time and money in the town centre.
Attracting even more people to the town and encouraging repeat visits, the innovative project has been made possible by Bournemouth Town Centre BID funding.
Downloadable on iPhone and Android devices, the iBournemouth App provides a guide for all delegates attending a conference or event in Bournemouth. It includes a comprehensive list of shops, restaurants, cinemas, cafes, bars and attractions as well as transport and emergency information. It also gives local businesses the opportunity to publish special offers, sell tickets and reach the thousands of business tourists who are looking for ways to spend their money and free time in the town.
Karina Gregory, from Business Events Bournemouth said:
“The new app is giving business tourists the ability to make the most of their time, experience the best of what we can offer and get the best deals from our local businesses. Highlighting our fantastic coastal destination, all this information is just a tap away via their smart phones.
Steve Hughes, Bournemouth Town Centre BID Manager said:
“We were delighted to help develop and launch this exciting app. It’s simple to use and will make it much easier for visitors to find the shops, bars and other businesses they like. iBournemouth represents a huge resource for our local businesses to tap into. They can now promote offers and attract business from the many thousands of people who attend business and consumer events in Bournemouth.’’
Business Events Bournemouth is the officially appointed agency for Bournemouth’s Hotels. They help business event organisers to find the right fit in venues and accommodation for their delegates. They continue to work closely with the Town Centre BID, an independent, not-for-profit company with a voluntary board of directors drawn from a range of local businesses in the BID area.
