Appeal for witnesses after serious assault in Weymouth

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a serious assault in Weymouth town centre.

The incident happened at around 3.30am on Sunday 21 January 2018 outside The Rum Shack in Maiden Street.

The victim – a local man aged in his 40s – was left requiring surgery to his leg following the assault.

Detective Constable Jacqui Gravenor, of Weymouth CID, said: “We are still trying to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has any further information to please come forward.

“We have been carrying out CCTV and house-to-house enquiries and investigations are ongoing.”
