Weymouth BID has announced that Richard Lamb will be the new Chair of Weymouth BID Limited with immediate effect. A Weymouth BID Ltd EGM (Extraordinary General Meeting) was held on today, 23 February 2018 to appoint a new chair following the resignation of Steve Newstead who announced his intention to step down at the Annual Meeting held on 8th February 2018.
As new Chair, Richard Lamb, who manages three public houses in Weymouth will take on the management of the Weymouth BID board with support of the directors, operational staff and contracted businesses. Ian Ferguson, Vice Chair of Weymouth BID will continue in his role with the responsibility for communications.
Richard Lamb, new Chair of Weymouth BID said “I am delighted to be involved in the Weymouth BID, and as a relative newcomer to the town I recognise the need for Weymouth to have all year round appeal.
I believe this can only happen with the levy payers pulling together through the BID. This should encourage people to visit and revisit this amazing cultural and historic town. The history of the town is also its future.
I encourage BID payers and the wider town to become engaged so we can all enjoy and benefit from a vibrant town.
My pledge as a Board member is to have full transparency and ensure all documents are open for public view.”
Claudia Moore, Chief Operating Officer of the Weymouth BID said “We are very pleased to have Richard on board and welcome him to Weymouth BID. Richard will be looking at the work of the BID2 steering group which meets every Monday to put the business plan together. This steering group includes representatives from a wide variety of businesses and all BID levy payers are encouraged to get involved.
