Leading law firm Humphries Kirk is sponsoring the Fieri Consort performance of The Courtesan’s Gaze, at St John’s Church in Broadstone on Saturday, May 26.
Former Parkstone Grammar School student, Hannah Ely and Lucy Cox, members of the Fieri Consort, will be joined by Toby Carr, lutenist and guitarist, and Aileen Henry, harpist, to perform musical pieces by Monteverdi, Caccini and Strozzi.
Alison Kay, artistic director of the series, commented: “We’re pleased to welcome Humphries Kirk as the sponsor for this event. Having a sponsor makes an enormous difference to us; it gives us the chance to offer more opportunities for local, student musicians to participate in our educational programmes at an affordable price and continue to bring high quality classical music to the area. Humphries Kirk is a strong supporter of the arts locally and we are delighted to have the opportunity to work with them for this concert.”
The performance focuses on Barbara Strozzi, the 17th Century composer of sensual, dramatic and unusual songs. Adult tickets are £15, and under 18’s are £7, both of which can be purchased through the Broadstone Music Series website.
Martin Varley, partner at Humphries Kirk, added: “We are so honoured to be sponsoring this concert, we’re proud supporters of the arts in Dorset and the opportunity to work with some of the area’s best young musicians is fantastic.”
Humphries Kirk has offices in Bournemouth, Parkstone, Poole, Swanage, Wareham, Dorchester and Crewkerne and has an international network of lawyers. Visit www.hklaw.eu for more information.
