Witness appeal following grievous bodily harm with intent in Weymouth

A woman has been charged in relation to an alleged serious assault in Weymouth.

Dorset Police was called at 6.58pm on Sunday 28 October 2018 to reports of an assault on Ranelagh Road.

It is alleged that a woman was assaulted by another woman causing a cut to her face.

 

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an alleged serious assault in Weymouth.

It is alleged that a woman was assaulted by another woman causing a cut to her face. An investigation is underway to identify the weapon allegedly used.

The victim – a 19-year-old local woman – was taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.

A 22-year-old woman from Weymouth was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and is assisting officers with enquiries.

It is believed both woman are known to each other.

Detective Constable George Graham, of Weymouth CID, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information that could assist with the investigation to please come forward.

“I would also ask that anyone who comes across a bladed weapon in the area not to touch it, but report it immediately to Dorset Police.”
