Over £25,000 has been given to community organisations and charities in the Dorchester and Bridport areas. The income from car boot sales in Fairfield Car Park in Dorchester and West Bay Road car park in West Bay is collected by us. It is then paid in to the car boot funds. Community organisations in the areas are invited to apply for the funds. A panel of town and district councillors award the grants from the many applications received.
Pre-school clubs, sports clubs, youth projects, projects for people with disabilities or long term health related issues and projects tackling social isolation were among those that benefited from the funding.
