One of our church members Doug Barnett (81) is going to do “A Round Dorset Walk” – 181 miles with the author of the book of the same name (Steve Crockford!). The walk will take place during August (6th – 28th) and the purpose is to raise funds for the planned ‘Link’ Community building extension at Twynham Church, Christchurch in Dorset.
Doug aims specifically to raise sufficient to pay for and furnish a quiet room for prayer in this extension, which will be dedicated to his wife Sue Barnett who was a wife, Mum, grandmother, author (particularly wrote about prayer and spiritual fitness), a preacher,
marathon runner and a keep fit teacher!! Sue was very well known in the locality, and further afield including with international charities.
Doug and Sue both completed the London Marathon, walked from North to South Lebanon, and Doug has walked from Lands to John O’Groats. Sadly Sue died recently but he would love her legacy to live on in this way. It would be great if you were able to run a feature about this if at all possible? Doug is a local, national, and international conference speaker and evangelist.
