It is with a heavy heart that Dorchester’s Shire Hall team has decided to close the museum with immediate effect (17th March 2020). The step is to ensure the safety of staff, volunteers and visitors given the progression of the Covid19 virus.
In a statement the team said: “We take health and safety very seriously. The health and wellbeing of our staff, volunteers, visitors and friends is uppermost in our minds and so we have taken action to ensure they are as safe as possible. We thank everyone for their kind support during this time, we would not be taking this step if we didn’t think it was essential and important to protect our team. We will keep the situation under review regularly, and we will keep everyone updated on social media and our website.”
All events have currently been postponed and staff will keep everyone updated via shirehalldorset.org
