A pedestrian involved in a road traffic incident in Gillingham has very sadly died as a result of his injuries.
At approximately 2.45pm on Monday 13 July 2020 officers were called to a report of a collision involving a Ford Fiesta and a pedestrian in a car park on Marlott Road.
The pedestrian, a 78-year-old local man, sustained possible life-threatening injuries and was flown by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital for treatment. He very sadly died on the evening of Wednesday 5 August 2020. His family has been informed and is being supported by officers.
The driver of the Ford was uninjured.
Police Sergeant Nikki Burt, of the Serious Collision Investigation Team, said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.
“We are continuing to investigate this incident and would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to please get in touch.”
