Detectives investigating a report of a sexual assault in Bournemouth town centre are issuing a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak with.

At around 2pm on Thursday 25 June 2020 the victim – a local woman aged in her 40s – met up with a man she had met two weeks previously outside Boots in Commercial Road. The pair then walked into Bournemouth Gardens to the play park near the tennis courts. It is reported that the man, who the victim knows very little about including his name, then sexually assaulted the victim.

Detective Constable Leila Whittle, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We have been carrying out a number of enquiries in a bid to identify a man who was seen with the victim on the day of the incident but these have so far been unsuccessful.

“I have now obtained a CCTV image of the man and I am appealing to anyone who recognises him to please contact Dorset Police.

“Officers are continuing to provide support to the victim.”
