Len McCluskey explains why the Unite union is rolling back financial support for the Labour party

Many people are saying that they don’t know what the Labour party stands for now and that by retreating back to New Labour they feel let down. He goes on to explain that the members are also very disillusioned following the party’s decision to pay out on the Panorama programme given that the lawyers had informed them that the legal case would not have been successful in the courts.

Lewis Goodall: Unite source: “We are fed up with being taken for granted. Unite’s support is not guaranteed and we had to send a message. Let’s hope Keir listens.”

Len McCluskey tells me that cuts in Labour funding, which has been decided at Unite exec tonight, could go further if the disquiet of his exec isn’t addressed. He added there’s a lot of anger about Unite funds being used to pay off Panorama whistleblowers.”

Len McCluskey is doing what is needed-using the ‘soft power’ for good. This is leadership, and this is what the collective Left SHOULD be doing, and is not. Much to my frustration. More of this please-from ALL The Left.

“You take Corporate donations, you lose Workers’ donations. That simple. You can be a party of the workers or a party of the profiteers – but you cannot be both.”

Tory Fibbs: Take a bow EvolvePolitics: “Labour: “We’re too afraid to oppose this bill which allows the government to legally murder trade unionists.”

Labour-affiliated Trade Union: “Okay, well we think you should be opposing these kinds of things so we’re going to reduce our funding to you.”

Labour: “You’re mean.”

Me: Can you do ‘Forensic’ Abstention? Asking for a friend… (Adam Samuels)

Starmer’s Labour has become a pro establishment gutless entity that means very little to those who base their politics on morality and principles.
