Officers are investigating a report that a swan was shot in Poole Park and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at around 9.30am on Tuesday 6 October 2020 that a swan had been found shot by an arrow in the park.

Police Community Support Officer Sam Cox, of Poole Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This is the third report of a swan being shot with an arrow in Poole Park in recent weeks and we are working hard to identify who is responsible.

“I would ask any motorists who were travelling in the park and have a dashcam fitted in their vehicle to please check it for any relevant footage.

“If you witnessed any suspicious activity in the area recently, please get in touch as your information may be vital to our enquiries.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55200149999. Alternatively, to stay 100 per cent anonymous, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or call Freephone 0800 555 111.
