Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following reported assault and sexual assault on Weymouth beach.
It is reported that at around 5pm on Tuesday 1 June 2021 a man approached a group of teenagers, aged between 15 and 16 years old, between Greenhill and Brunswick Terrace and during an interaction he made inappropriate comments toward them.
The man allegedly threw a rock at the group and subsequently grabbed and pushed one of the teenage boys. It is further reported that the man kissed one of the boys on the neck while apologising.
Officers attended and a 42-year-old man from Weymouth was arrested on suspicion of assault and sexual assault. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Police Constable Benjamin Worley, of Weymouth police, said: “I am carrying out a number of enquiries into this incident and am appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened to please get in touch.”
