Officers investigating a road rage incident in Bournemouth are issuing an image of a man they would like to speak to.

The victim, a woman aged in her 20s, was a passenger in her friend’s car as they were driving along Ringwood Road, near to the Ringwood Road Retail Park at around 2.30pm on Sunday 6 June 2021. They became aware of a grey Audi estate car that pulled out in front of them, causing them to brake sharply.

The woman shouted out of the window at the male driver of the Audi. He got out and walked toward their car before opening the passenger door and slapping the victim in the face and shouting abuse at her. The man then went back to his vehicle.

The victim did not sustain any injuries that required hospital treatment.

Police Community Support Investigator Brett Hirst, of Dorset Police, said: “We have been carrying out enquiries into this incident and have obtained an image of a man we would like to speak to as part of our investigation.

“We have so far been unable to identify him and I would urge anyone who is able to assist to please come forward.”
