Detectives investigating a knifepoint robbery in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
Dorset Police received a report at 10.38pm on Tuesday 7 September 2021 of a robbery in Chickerell Road.
It was reported that the victim – an 18-year-old man – was riding his bicycle when he was approached by a man near to the Admiral Hardy pub.
The man demanded the victim give him the bike and was reportedly seen in possession of a bladed article.
The victim handed over the bike – described as a Trek mountain bike with a blue frame and yellow bars and pedals – and the man rode off from the scene.
The offender is described as white, aged around 20 years old, approximately six feet two inches tall and of average build. He was wearing a black hooded top and grey jogging bottoms.
Detective Sergeant Matt Bradley, of Weymouth CID, said: “This must have been a very frightening incident for the victim and we have launched a full investigation to identify the man responsible.
“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or any suspicious activity in the area, to please come forward.
“I would also urge anyone who was driving in the area of Chickerell Road around the time of the incident and has dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please check their footage for anything that might assist our investigation.”
