A man who was seriously injured in a road traffic collision in Weymouth has sadly died.
At around 4.15pm on Saturday 4 September 2021 a collision occurred at the Veasta roundabout on the A354 Dorchester Road involving two motorcycles that were reportedly travelling together.
The rider of a blue Yamaha, a man aged in his 50s and from Seaton in Devon, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.
Very sadly, he died in hospital on the evening of Tuesday 7 September 2021. His family are aware.
The second vehicle was a black Honda motorcycle being ridden by a man aged in his 40s and from Honiton. He was uninjured.
Sergeant Jay Griffin, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the man who died at what must be an extremely difficult time for them.
“We owe it to them to carry out a thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances of this collision and I would urge any witnesses who have not spoken to police to please come forward.
“I would also again ask anyone who was travelling in the area around the time of the collision to please check any dashcam footage for anything that might be relevant to our enquiries.”
