Dorset Police received a report at 9.06am on Sunday 19 September 2021 of a collision involving a Talbot Motorhome and a pedestrian who was walking a dog on Compton Avenue.

The pedestrian – a man aged in his 60s from Poole – sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. Very sadly, the dog – a West Highland Terrier – died at the scene.

Two 21-year-old men from Poole were arrested on suspicion of driving offences and have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Police Constable Mark Palmer, of the traffic unit, said: “We are carrying out a full investigation to establish the circumstances of this collision.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened or may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam to please come forward.”
