Police appeal to Wimborne cyclist to ‘do the right thing’

Officers investigating a fail-to-stop collision in Wimborne are appealing for the cyclist involved and anyone with information to come forward.

At approximately 3.55pm on Wednesday 20 April 2022 a collision occurred in Crown Mead near to Waitrose involving a cyclist and a pedestrian.

The cyclist got back onto his bike and left the area without giving their details.

The pedestrian – a man aged in his 90s – attended hospital for treatment to a broken wrist, broken thumb and injuries to his arms.

Police Constable Rhianna Sly, of East Dorset police, said: “I have been carrying out a number of enquiries into this incident, including checking CCTV in the area.

“I am appealing to the cyclist to do the right thing and come forward so we can take your account of what happened.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the vicinity and witnessed the incident.”
