The government’s cynical use of rail strikes to win by elections

Why would a government as popular as syphilis not try to use the chaos of a rail strike to hoodwink the electorate? It is what sociopaths and psychopaths do. Why is anyone surprised?

Grant Shapps has been told by Boris Johnson and Lynton Crosby that the only chance of winning in either Wakefield or Tiverton and Honiton is to go around knocking and doors and spreading bullsh** about it all being someone else’s fault. This is normal for them, but at election time, as we have seen for decades, it can be decisive. Conning the public is what they do.

The reality of the situation is that the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) says workers are striking over job cuts, pay, working conditions and practices, and pensions.

The RMT has called on transport secretary Grant Shapps to intervene in talks, however, Shapps dismissed this request as a “stunt”, saying the union had been “gunning” for industrial action for weeks.

A stunt!!

Losing pay is a stunt!

The truth is of course very different:

And

And

The class war in this country is as strong as ever. Yes it has been derailed a little by identity politics but that is because individuals and groups have sought to take on bigotry and inequality in its many forms. If people were NOT nasty and discriminatory then there would be no need to stand up to sexists, misogynists, racists, homophobes, transphobes…. Identity politics is a symptom of people trying to take the power back. These rail strikes are the same. The politicians get a pay rise. Most if not all are millionaires. They have no right to tell others they cannot get as much pay as they can. Their strategy is generally to try and turn as many non millionaires against those fighting for a a more equitable return on their labour.

This is how the system works. The irony is that the phrase ‘hard working’ is thrown out like confetti but when people want to be fairly rewarded suddenly it becomes a problem. Hence the class war. It is as much a part of capitalism as child labour and suicides.

If you support the rail workers or any workers in their demand for a larger slice of the cake you are on the right side of history. If you support the sociopaths and their crony agenda you are all but dead.
