Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward as they investigate a serious injury road traffic collision in Poole.
Dorset Police received a report at 2.51pm on Tuesday 27 September 2022 of a collision in St Osmunds Road, near to the junction with Kings Avenue, involving a lorry and a bicycle.
Officers attended along with the ambulance service and the 18-year-old male cyclist was taken by air ambulance to Southampton Hospital for treatment to serious injuries. His family has been informed.
Road closures were put in place as the emergency services responded to the incident and an examination of the scene was conducted.
Sergeant Richard Stroud, of the traffic unit, said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision and I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened to please make contact with us.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.
“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during the road closures. As ever, these are necessary to allow the emergency services to respond safely and for an examination of the collision scene to be carried out.”
