Fail to stop as pedestrian hospitalised in Dorchester

Officers investigating a road traffic collision in Dorchester are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Dorset Police was called at around 8am on Tuesday 29 November 2022 to a report of a collision involving a black Renault van and a pedestrian in Prince of Wales Road.

The female pedestrian – aged in her 20s – has been taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not believed to be serious.

Police Sergeant Geraint Butler, of the traffic unit, said: “Although the vehicle involved was reported to have failed to stop, it was located shortly after.

“Our enquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances of what happened and I would ask any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to please come forward.

“I would also like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while emergency services dealt with the incident.”
