32-year-old Portland man arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder

Detectives investigating an incident where shots were reportedly fired in Weymouth have arrested four further people.

Dorset Police received a report at 5.53pm on Tuesday 22 May 2018 of shots being fired – possibly from an air weapon – in Marsh Road near to the Asda supermarket in Weymouth. There were also reports of a number of men seen running from the scene.

A thorough investigation was launched and a 54-year-old Weymouth man was previously arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and released under investigation.

A 32-year-old Portland man has also now been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and has been released under investigation.

Two men, aged 19 and 20 and both from Northamptonshire, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent and have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

A 21-year-old woman from Northamptonshire was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and has been released under investigation.
