Officers investigating a robbery in Christchurch are issuing an image of a stolen watch and appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Between 2pm and 2.30pm on Saturday 23 May 2020 the victim, a man aged in his 70s, was standing near to the bus stop opposite In-Excess on Somerford Road when he was approached by two women, who said they were collecting for charity.

Following a short interaction, the women made the victim sign some paperwork, before proceeding to try and hug the man while grabbing his T-shirt and arms.

A Rolex watch was stolen during the incident.

The women are described as aged in their 20s. One was approximately five feet three inches tall and of a plump build and the second woman was described as being five feet eight inches tall and carrying a clipboard.

Police Constable Kelly Cole, of Christchurch police, said: “As part of my enquiries I am releasing an image of the stolen Rolex watch and would urge anyone who has seen it for sale locally in unusual circumstances to please get in touch.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or any motorists who were travelling in the area and may have captured any relevant dashcam footage.”
