A motorcyclist involved in a road traffic collision in Bournemouth has sadly died from his injuries

Dorset Police received a report at 9.38pm on Wednesday 16 October 2019 of a collision involving a grey Triumph motorcycle and a pedestrian on Ringwood Road, outside of the Turbary Retail Park.

Emergency services attended and very sadly the pedestrian – a Bournemouth woman aged in her 60s – was pronounced dead at the scene.

The motorcyclist – a Poole man aged in his 50s – was taken by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. He sadly died in hospital on the night of Tuesday 22 October 2019. His family has been informed and is being supported by specially-trained officers.

Inspector Joe Pardey, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with the families of both of those who have sadly died as a result of this collision.

“We are continuing to investigate the collision and I would like to reiterate our appeal for any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to please contact us.”
